interior and exterior, anchored by minimal-framed windows that perform as beautifully as they look.
Overview
Conceived during the early days of the pandemic, this project began as a question: What if a home could feel like a staycation—every day?
The team at Modern Edge Build set out to create a space where shared experiences are prioritized, and design choices support both aesthetics and well-being.
With complete creative control, they leaned into performance-driven design—integrating solar load modeling, advanced HVAC systems, and continuous insulation from the ground up. We were brought in early to support both the architectural vision and technical execution, ensuring form and function worked seamlessly together.

From orientation to materiality, every detail of this residence was selected with purpose. Awake’s contribution—clean, minimal-framed glazing systems—helped bring natural light deeper into the home while supporting the project’s energy efficiency and insulation goals.
The result is a home that feels effortless, but is meticulously engineered behind the scenes.
Built for Connection & Clarity
Designed to foster interaction and ease, the window and door systems were selected to support the open-concept layout and indoor-outdoor lifestyle at the heart of the home.
The aim was to:
- Install flush-track multi-slide doors that promote natural flow from kitchen to patio.
- Incorporate floor-to-ceiling fixed windows to maximize daylight and create architectural volume.
- Install large-format transoms and sidelights as part of the entry, enhancing light and supporting the home’s design program.
- Support solar load modeling and insulation goals with window systems designed for energy efficiency and building envelope performance.
