Multi-Slide Screen with Flush Lockstile is a Popular Solution

Our 905 Series Multi-Slide screen continues to grow in popularity in markets that desire screened solutions to enjoy the beauty of fresh air. The new, heavier-duty screen utilizes the same base extrusions that are utilized in the glass panels of the 905 Series multi-slides. The FRP is replaced with an additional extrusion that houses the UltraVue screen mesh material. The end result is a high-quality, robust screen worth the luxury doors Awake has become known for. It is available in both full-screen and lead-screen solutions.

What is a Multi-Slide Lead Screen?

As you know, our 905 series multi-slide can come in an almost infinite number of panels designed to open entire walls to enjoy indoor-outdoor living. If a “Lead Screen” option is selected, this means that only (1) one screen will be included on the door system. For example, if you had a 4-panel door pocket door system (P4X configuration) with a frame size of 20’ x 10’, each panel is approximately 5’ x 10’. Hidden in your pocket while the door is closed would be qty. (1) 5’ x 10’ “Lead Screen”. When you want fresh air, you would open just one of your doors, then pull the screen out of the pocket and screen the opening left by the one panel. The Lead screen adds one additional track to the multi-slide door.

What is a Multi-Slide Full Screen?

Different than the “Lead Screen”, the “Full Screen” is selected when you desire the ability to screen the entire opening of your 905 series multi-slide door. Utilizing the same example door from above (a 4-panel 4XP pocket door), when the door is completely open, 20’ of clear opening exists as all (4) glass panels slide into the pocket. Also hidden in the pocket are (4) screen panels that slide out and interlock together similar to the glass panels, enabling the customer to have a full 20’ of opening screened. The full-screen solutions always double the track count of the glass doors.

Why Must I Use The Flush Lockstile On My Glass Door When Utilizing The Multi-Slide Screen?

If you desire a multi-slide lead screen, you must choose our “Flush Lockstile” option to enable the lead screen and flush lockstile to bypass each other. Both the lead screen and lead glass panel will utilize the flush lockstile and locking mechanism.

Awake is excited to provide our customers with both of these innovative solutions. Our most popular solution is the lead screen as it keeps the track depth narrower and most people only look for ventilation of one door only.
