Guardian Announces SNX 60+ Coating Will Replace SNX 62/27 Throughout 2026
Guardian Glass has announced that through 2026 they will be phasing out SNX 62/27, a popular triple coat Low E option, and replacing it with the new and improved SNX 60+. Guardian says the new SunGuard SNX 60+ delivers standout energy efficiency with a crisp neutral aesthetic.
They emphasized the new coating has the highest light-to-solar-gain ratio in the North American SunGuard triple silver lineup (2.46), which allows clients to benefit from more natural daylight with less unwanted heat gain.

Why SNX 60+?
As clients continue to search for ways to decrease solar heat gain into their homes, it is Guardian’s belief that SNX 60+ is destined to become one of their most popular and best selling glass options on the market. Awake offers Guardian coatings when our customers choose to utilize glass from West Coast Insulating Glass or Agnora Glass (for oversized options).
Visually the glass has more of a soft blue coloration, in lieu of the more soft green color you typically see with most triple coat Low E options like SNX 62/27.

What This Means for Quoting
Our V6 quoting system will be updated in the coming month to remove SNX 62/27 as an option and will instead be replacing it with SNX 60+. The same will be true in our Excel quoting options.
For customers ordering replacement glass or additional units in which SNX 62/27 was used on a previous project, West Coast and Agnora will have access to quote and provide SNX 62/27 for the foreseeable future. However, these orders are strictly for replacement units or additional units where glass must match.
⚠ Important Note on the Transition
Please keep an eye out for this change and begin to plan accordingly on your projects. While SNX 60+ is an improved and enhanced option in most every regard, it is important to recognize that the two glass options are not an exact match in color tone — discretion and planning must be used during the transition.
