Set against Sedona’s iconic red rocks, Canyon Vista has earned Phoenix Home & Garden’s Home of the Year distinction for its visionary approach to modern desert living.

Perched within Sedona’s dramatic red rock landscape, Canyon Vista was envisioned as a home deeply connected to its surroundings — a project where architecture, light, and nature work together in complete harmony. Designed through a close collaboration between homeowner Roland Cochran, The Ranch Mine, Brittany Simon Design, and Awake Window & Door Co., the residence reflects a shared commitment to thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and experiential living.

From the beginning, the vision for the home centered around openness and immersion in the landscape. With nearly 280-degree panoramic views and more than 60% of the exterior composed of glass, Canyon Vista dissolves the boundary between inside and out. Expansive glazing, floor-to-ceiling systems, concealed thresholds, and twelve motorized door systems create spaces that feel fully connected to the surrounding desert environment while maintaining the warmth and livability of a private residence.

Large-format multi-slide doors, custom window walls, and an 8-foot-wide all-glass pivot entry door were carefully integrated throughout the home to minimize visual interruption and maximize natural light, views, and flow.

Awake systems played a central role in achieving that vision. Every opening was designed not simply as a functional element, but as part of the architectural experience itself.

The result is a home that feels both refined and effortless — one where the architecture quietly steps back and allows the landscape to lead.
