Design Smarter: New CAD Notes & Product Warnings Now Live
As part of our ongoing effort to improve order clarity, design coordination, and installation accuracy, we’ve released a series of updates to our CAD drawings across multiple product lines. These updates include new warning notes, clarified assembly conditions, and added components that project teams should review carefully during design development, detailing, and installation planning.
Below is a summary of the most recent CAD drawing updates by product series.

105 Series
CAD Updates
- WARNING: Units will be wet glazed due to sash size. Extra care is required during installation to ensure units are installed square, plumb, and level, as re-blocking the glass will be difficult.
- New insert frame added to drawings.
425 Series Window Wall
CAD Notes
- WARNING: When using the 1.00″ frame, the exterior pressure bar and beauty cover must remain accessible to allow future re-glazing. Refer to the installation instructions for details.
- WARNING: Frame is factory assembled with field-glazed glass.
555 Series Pivot Door
CAD Updates
- WARNING: Frame and leaf are factory assembled but shipped separately.
- WARNING: Pivot doors do not provide protection from air and water intrusion. Refer to installation instructions for additional details.
- New 2D overhead view added to clarify pivot door handing

905 / 275 Series Multi-Slide Systems
CAD Notes & Updates
- WARNING: Frame ships knocked down with factory-assembled panels.
- WARNING: Zero bottom rail doors require panel extrusions to be snapped onto the FRP in the field.
- WARNING: Hidden sill doors require panel extrusions to be snapped onto the FRP in the field.
- WARNING: Zero bi-part lead stile is not thermally broken and is thermally enhanced only.
- New A01763 stepped flush lead stile added for multi-slide screens to prevent hardware interference.
Triple Pane Multi-Slide Door (MSD)
CAD Warnings
- WARNING: Triple pane panels are structurally glazed at Awake and cannot be disassembled or modified in the field. Refer to the installation instructions for the maximum allowable header deflection. Exceeding these limits will require new panels, as interlocks cannot be trimmed in the field.
- WARNING: Reducing panel height may result in the FRP extending further into the sightline at the head than standard. Customer verification confirms adequate panel engagement along the full travel path.
505 Series
(Applies to hinge pair doors only)
- WARNING: Frame and leaf are factory assembled but shipped separately.
575 Series Tilt & Turn
CAD Update
- New A01752 Tilt & Turn / Hopper Sash Stile added to drawings.

Generic CAD Warnings (May Apply to Multiple Series)
- WARNING: Transoms must be supported from the head when installed.
- WARNING: Common mull units ship separately and are mated in the field.
- WARNING: Units over 75 sq. ft. may have a higher likelihood of allowable glass imperfections. Refer to warranty documentation for details.
- WARNING: Awake recommends drip caps to reduce the risk of water intrusion on vertically mulled units.
Insert Units
CAD Warnings
- WARNING: Insert units ship separately from fixed windows and must be installed into the glazing pocket in the field. Refer to installation instructions.
- WARNING: A small gap will exist between the insert frame and fixed window frame to allow insertion. Units must be evenly centered using setting blocks, with a cap bead of sealant applied at the interior as noted in installation instructions.
- WARNING: Insert units are wet set in the glazing pocket. Extra care is required to ensure units are installed square, plumb, and level for proper water sealing.

SDL (Simulated Divided Lite)
- Field-applied SDL note added where applicable.
Why This Matters
These CAD updates are intended to improve coordination accuracy, reduce field confusion, and ensure expectations are aligned from design through installation. We encourage all project teams to review the latest CAD drawings and corresponding installation instructions when detailing or revising projects.
If you have any questions about these updates or how they apply to a specific condition, please reach out to your Awake representative.
