Please read below to learn some of the most popular options customers use to create alignment and symmetry across our product lines.
Vertical bar alignment – 1-3/8” T-Bar and 1-3/8” Interlock
One of the most popular alignment strategies used by our architectural partners is incorporating the 1-3/8” T-bar in clerestories that sit above our 905 Series Multi-slide door system. For example, a 5-panel Multi-slide door has (4) vertical lines where the doors interlock and meet each other. In this example, the customer would select our 1-3/8” interlock option.
For the 5-panel clearstory above, the (4) vertical lines which are designed to exactly align with the door system below would utilize our 1-3/8” T-bar. Please see the shop drawing shown here to see the exact visual alignment and design benefit that comes from the vertical lines across two product families being an exact match. It truly is beautiful!
Matching Perimeter 2” perimeter jambs to create matching return details
It is extremely common to have multiple products utilized in a given room, especially in a large room like a Living or Great Room. Our pivot door, hinged door, casements, and multi-slide doors all come standard with a 2” perimeter jamb. If the room utilized any of these doors or windows, and then in an adjacent area the design also called for a Fixed Window Wall, an architect could choose to make the perimeter frame of our Window Wall 2” so that the reveals would match all three families.
Our window wall comes standard at 1” to be as narrow as possible, but the 2” options is available to enable this alignment and design strategy that makes the little details that much more perfect for the client.
3″ High Base Fixed Window Sill to Align glass with Multi-Slide Doors
Another popular alignment strategy when one wall on a house utilizes a multi-slide door and another adjacent wall has a fixed window wall sitting on the floor, is to incorporate our 3” High Base fixed window perimeter jamb. Our multi-slide with a ¾” standard sill also includes a 2-¼” bottom rail. Thus, the glass visibility on the door system starts 3” in the air. Architects love to use the 3” fixed window sill so that the glass line and reveal matches across the various product families creating a symmetry that is so rarely available in window and door families.
